Projecting the good image of the local government

Regulating information in the Local Government

Serves as intermediary between government and the public

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the Information Unit
  • Advises the Local Government on matters relating to information dissemination.
  • Issues Press Releases on the directives of the Chairman.
  • Coordinates collection, collation and release of information on behalf of Local Government/Local Council Development Area
  • Assessment of the impact of Government’s programme and projects on populace and create feedback mechanism.


The information department was established alongside with the establishment of the local government.
