HON. JELILI VISITS JIMOH/VICTORIA COMMUNITY
_….Assures Residents of Government Support_
The Executive Chairman Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has assured the residents of Jimoh Akinremi, Victoria and Church Streets of government support in their communities over the perennial flooding in the area.
The Chairman gave this assurance during an unscheduled inspection this weekend to assess the impact of flood in the communities during rainy season.
While inspecting various outlets which were seen as impediment to flow of water in the area, he observed that the outflows of water were too tiny to aid free flow of water.
He however urged the Environmental and Work department staff of the local government in his entourage to come up with adequate plan to correct the anomaly.
Hon. Jelili also said, his government will work to ensure that flooding by Jimoh bus stop is reduced to the bearest minimum. Noting that residents must desist from placing refuse on the roads and the drainage.
It would be recalled that the residents of Jimoh Akinremi, a section of Akowonjo road, Victoria and Church Streets have been facing perennial flooding which has resulted in the loss of properties and damage to government infrastructure.
