Alimosho flags off Meningitis A vaccination for children

Alimosho local government today kick start Meningitis A vaccination for children between ages 9 and 15 months old.

The event which took place today at Bola Tinubu Primary Health center was attended by the local government medical officer, nursing mothers’, stakeholders in the local government amongst others.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon ably represented by the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Rasheed Abolade said “it is important that all mother’s within the local government present their babies for vaccination to prevent Meningitis”.

Olorunsheyi foundation donates wheelchair to Alimosho physically challenged

 

The Olorunsheyi Foundation had donated Ten wheelchairs for physically challenged people in Alimosho. The donation was made in conjunction with Alimosho Local Government at Bola Tinubu Primary Health Center Akonwonjo on Monday, 22nd July, 2019.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Olorunsheyi Sunday, the founder of the Olorunsheyi foundation said it is in communication of his 40th birthday alongside his wife. He said the foundation recently supported five startup businesses with one million naira each, they also distributed forty one GCE forms for people within Alimosho. All these activities cut across the three cardinal point of the foundation viz Education, health and poverty alleviation.

The Executive Chairman of Alimosho, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon applauded the impact of Mr. Olorunsheyi to the community, ‘he is really giving back to the society’. Hon. Jelili Sulaimon referred to him as “a rear specie. We want youths and business owners to emulate him in giving back to the society.”

It will be on record that Pertinence Limited, a company owned by Mr. Olorunsheyi is currently constructing Tinuola close for the benefit of the community.

Mrs. Mojeeb Fumilayo, speaking on behalf of the recipients appreciated the kind gesture of the foundation and the local government.

Alimosho LG set to open Model Primary Health Center

 

Alimosho Local Government under the leadership of Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has completed the construction of the ultra modern Primary Health Center to provide qualitative healthcare services for the community.

Alimosho primary health center which is located at Vulcanizer bus stop, Akowonjo road will remain a model in Lagos State.

The PHC is well furnished and has all it’s room en-suite with adequate space for all activities in the PHC.

The health center includes Maternity unit, family planning, child welfare, DOT,  clinic, dental and eye clinic, pharmacy unit, laboratory services, scan unit and NPI unit where all private hospitals in Alimosho collects immunization vaccine.

In the words of the Supervisor for Health, Hon. AbdulRasheed Abolade “this PHC is a milestone in Alimosho humanitarian project, our chairman will forever be remembered for it”

The MOH of Alimosho Local Government, Dr. Mrs Titilayo Oni described the facility as “a one stop center for qualitative health care delivery”.

Hon. Jelili Sulaimon said “it is our believe that each ward in Alimosho should have a PHC, this is a model for the rest”

Alimosho PHC is completed and awaiting commissioning on 12th of February, 2019.

Alimosho LG partners SOML on free medical outreach.

 

The department of health, Alimosho local government in collaboration with SOML is organizing free medical outreach for communities in Alimosho.

The medical Team will be available in the following locations for a comprehensive free medical check up and drugs.

Hon. Jelili said are taking the medical outreach to our communities to enable everyone to take part and enjoy dividend of democracy. The programme will be held on 21st and 28th of September at various places within the local government.

Alimosho LG Boss Partakes in planting 10 million trees

 

In commemoration of the 2018 Tree Planting Day, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon, the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government partakes in planting tree at Aregbesola Primary School, Shasha. The tree planting day is an annual event which started 11 years ago in Lagos State with the mindset of planting 10 million trees.

While speaking at the event, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon said “trees are important part of every community. Our streets, parks, playgrounds and backyards if lined with trees will create a peaceful, aesthetically pleasing environment. Trees increase our quality of life by bringing natural elements and wildlife habitats into urban settings”. He encourages members of Alimosho Local Government to plant trees so that we can save our eco system from ozone layer depletion.

 

The General Manger of LASPARK, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, represented by Hon. Dare Ogunkoya in her welcome address noted that “the trees right to live should be recognized and it should be allowed to live until it is proving that it cannot do so without a clear, demonstrable and quantifiable danger.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Environment, Baatunde Durosimi-Etti reiterate that “when we kill trees, we kill life.” The programme was well attended by Oba of Shasha Land, party leaders, religious leaders and market leaders in Alimosho Local Government.

Trees were planted in the school premises to provide a better atmosphere for student and the school environment.

Hon. Jelili sensitize youths on Drug Abuse

 

The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon has sensitize Alimosho youth against drug addiction. This call was made during a football match and free medical programme organized by Hope for the Addict Initiatives located at Shasha Lagos.

The Non-Governmental organization campaign against drug addiction in Nigeria and diapora. The friendly match was well attended by Oba of ShashaLand, the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Baale of Orisunmibare and a host of youths in Alimosho Local Government.
Shun drug addiction and give hope to the addicts.

Alimosho LG to begin road patching

In response to the call of the people of Alimosho, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon, the Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government said road patching will begin in a week time. The statement was made while addressing members of Alimosho CDC in a meeting at the local government secretariat.
Hon. Jelili Sulaimon said “Despite the shortage of fund for our LG, Alimosho is still striving to provide infrastructural development for her people. The government is sacrificing and preparing ground for future generation”.

The council boss further said, “internally generated fund need to be intensified for us to achieve our desired goals”. He charged the public to pay their Radio and Television rate which has been repackaged to suit the public. He said “1000, 2000 and 3000 is what bungalow, a storey building and two storey building will pay for a year respectively”.

The Executive chairman used the opportunity to charge the CDC members to get their Permanent Voters Card as this will enable them to vote for the right person. He equally advised them not to participate in internal democracy as a group as the CDC and CDA is not expected to be a partisan association.
The Executive Chairman concluded his speech by wishing them Happy Eid Fitri in advance. He equally invites them to the Eid celebration which is expected to come up at the Local Government Secretariat on Eid day by 11:00am.
The CDC chairman, Chief Sola Ogunyonbo commended the chairman for the ongoing projects in Alimosho Local Government. He charged his members to be a role model to the public by being the first to pay their radio and television rate.

Lagos State Civil Service Commission encourage Alimosho Staff

Hon. Jelili Sulaimon, Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government host representative of Lagos State Civil Service Commission at Alimosho Local Government Secretariat as they discuss staff welfare.
During the visit, Mr. Ajomale representing Ikeja division applaud the Executive Governor of Lagos State for recruiting new staff for the local government. He uses the opportunity to enjoined the staff to be more productive and be a good ambassador of the local government.

“Avoid lackadaisical attitude to work, lateness and absenteeism should be grossly checked” said Mr. Ajomale
Mr. Babs representing Badagry Division commend Hon. Jelili Sulaimon for providing conducive environment for staff. He further solicited for support for the chairman from all HODs. He commends the chairman for constructing a modern and befitting administrative block for staff.
